It is an honor for me as Vice president for Research, Postgraduate and Extension to welcome you to this important event. I want to express my joy in sharing these days with you in virtual mode; technology that unites us through distance.
We are here to celebrate and present the most important research and contributions of the maritime sector at the 1st International Maritime, Port and Marine Resources Scientific Colloquium. This event unites us with ever greater determination and our greater conviction in promoting mobility and the exchange of knowledge in our research work. This undoubtedly facilitates the identification of research lines, and groups in our university community, fosters and reinforces the link between teaching and research, favoring teachers and students; a critical aptitude for the problems of the maritime sector and the various ways of approaching them to contribute to their solution.
This first International Maritime, Port, Marine and Coastal Resources Scientific Colloquium gives us the opportunity to reaffirm, strengthen and highlight the invaluable support of Academic Institutions from different latitudes committed to education and the maritime sector specialists will accompany us with their contributions in the development of this event. In this way, together we enhance our work in a shared vision in the maritime area.
This opportunity helps us to analyze and discuss the events of the world maritime sector from different perspectives and disciplines, and helps us to rethink the importance of research in a comprehensive and interdisciplinary way. In addition, it is necessary to highlight the commitment of the International Maritime University of Panama in its commitment to research and the task of training human resources, the investigative work in the search for solutions in society.
In this activity, the Executive-Organizing Committee, the Technical-Scientific Reviewing Committee, the Dissemination and Propaganda Committee, the Logistics Committee, the Editorial Committee of the Event Report and the Organizing Committee of the Presentations, wish to express once again the serious commitment to achieve a successful scientific event, and promote the commitment of research and its contributions to society.
